Office of self promotion: T/S founder named to Silicon Alley 100 list
Posted by andreaitis on December 9, 2009
Here’s LD, clocking in at #42 on Silicon Alley Insider’s annual top 100 list. This year, the list actually goes up to 113 and represents “people in the NYC digital community who did really cool stuff.”
No worries, world. Our collective T/S ego remains in check. And if it dares to swell a bit we simply have to pull up the other Silicon Alley Insider story about us, the one that called us boring five minutes after our alpha launch.
Ok, that’s not fair. It was more like 12 hours after we launched.
Seriously – on behalf of LD – we’re excited to make the list. Thanks, SAI.

…and as we all know from reading Hitchhiker’s Guide TTG, 42 is the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. I’m glad i got here when i did!
What’s up with that promo? All respect to The Taibbi, i did come here initially to read his work; but i return often due to many other talented contributors who are *not* celebrities and actually have the ability to make the experience a little more interactive.
3 cheers for being a nobody!

Thanks, Andy. Our CTO pointed out those very same virtues of the number 42.
Taibbi was one of our early contribs. He believed and took the leap of faith. You were one of our early users. As we’ve grown, I think you’ve seen the playing field levels out every day — for contributors and users. That’s part of the fun, seeing which posts and contributors and users resonate each day (or even each hour).
Three cheers, indeed.
